What did you get for Christmas?  Me?  Five prescriptions.  Yes, I said five.  Technically, I guess I got pneumonia and a sinus infection for Christmas and the prescriptions were for Boxing Day.  Do you give presents for Boxing Day?  Anyway.  At least Nathan is better.  We had two middle of the night trips to the E.R. for his wheezing.  However, the worse I got the better he got.  Go boobjuice!

Aside from the Creeping Christmas Croup (CCC), Christmas was wonderful.  It is amazing how much more magical it becomes when you have a child.  He loved the lights and sounds and he would “sing” along with us, or the carols playing on the stereo.  He is wonderful.

John and Carrie made the hellishly long drive up from Ridgecrest to celebrate the holiday with our little family.  Carrie makes me laugh so very much that I cherish the time we spend together.  I do wish we hadn’t had to cancel our New Year’s Eve plans at the beach with our families.

My dad came over and was a welcome camper on our sofa.  Alas he caught the CCC as well.  He’s on the mend; although first he cooked our entire Christmas dinner while thinking he might actually die from the CCC.  And it was a wonderful dinner at that.  His best line? “Is that ANOTHER Tiffany’s bag?”

Santa, David and Nathan were really good to me (and to Tiffany) this year – with each of them having picked up a bauble in a pretty blue box for me.  I always thought the charms that are hearts and say “mom” on them were a little cheesy.  Until I found one from Tiffany in my stocking.  I cried a smidgeon.  And right on cue Nathan laughed.  Have I mentioned how wonderful is he?

David took a big chunk of time off – thank you Family Leave Act – and we’re just hanging out.  Okay, I’m lounging in bed and he’s taking care of me.  And Nathan.  He is even more wonderful than my son.  Health aside, I am very blessed.

How was your Christmas?
