While out and about we’ve seen a couple of cool license plates. One was on the back of Scion. It said “toazter.” I laughed. David only chuckled.
The best was one only someone who lives in or has spent some significant time in the S.F. Bay Area/Silicon Valley would understand. It was on an old volvo station wagon with a peeling “Powered by Linux” sticker on the back window. “Frys Run” Seriosuly had us laughing and laughing. I had David pull alongside so I could see the driver. Turns out it was a teenager - probably driving his dad’s car. I wonder if he gets it?
Something else I’ve noticed while out and about is that young men are wearing their ballcaps all crooked a la The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Does this mean we’ve finally moved beyond fashion revisiting the 1980s and we’re moving into the 1990s? Either way, someone should tell the boys that unless they look like, and more importantly are built like, Will Smith they don’t look hot with the crooked caps. They look goofy. Don’t get me wrong, Will Smith looked goofy too, but the man is HOT.
I think I need a moment here.

Actually, Fry’s is a growing national experience. There’s one about two miles from my place and the theme of the store is Austin music.

Sadly, the fashion statement has not a a thing to do with Will Smith. And hasn’t for a long time. it has more to do with the hip hop nation and the fact that it’s a statement to wear your cap with a perfectly flat, straight bill and off to the side. Thank you, 50 Cent.
sigh
Congrats on the boy, btw
