Several weeks ago I heard someone say something about a squirrel trying to get a nut. Which, of course, sent me reeling all the way back to the 1980’s. A boyfriend made me a mix tape and I remember the song in question was on the tape. I thought it was Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam’s “All Cried Out” since that was on the tape as well. So I go to iTunes and buy the Lisa Lisa song in question. And let’s all remember there is no little rap ditty at the end of that song is there? No. No, there is not. Now I have that in my purchase history. Nice.

Undeterred I google “you’re just a squirrel trying to get a nut” and lo and behold! Oran “Juice” Jones! Now I have “The Rain” on my iPod for my drive to the beach tonight! Except for the part about having Lisa Lisa on my purchase history, I’m more than a little giddy. Don’t tell David, but the Pine Nut is being exposed to 80’s rap as I type! However, I will leave you with a mental visual of my freckle-faced David finding out and coming home saying, “That’s right now close your mouth ’cause you cold busted.”

One Response to “You without me is like corn flakes without the milk!”
