I think I’m finished with The View. I should clarify that I’m not a huge fan, but I need to have sound while I’m working and my wee LCD television does a great job of providing sound. However, Elizabeth Hasselback has really got to stop with the blind hero worship of all things President Bush and everything conservative. She is everything I dislike about the typical conservative republican. She cannot seem to open her mind to even listen to the point of view of someone who doesn’t agree with her opinions or beliefs. She, and the rest of her conservative coven, believe they are right and morally superior and all while not even taking a split second to consider other people’s thoughts or circumstances. Aurgh.

I’m bored with the virus that has taken up residence in my body. I’m just saying.

Looks like we have our next trip planned – An extra long weekend in Holden Beach, NC at the end of the month. You know what this means, right? The Pilot House in Wilmington for Shrimp and Grits. A meal sitting on the deck along the Cape Fear River, watching the sun set and the drawbridge draw, is one of my top five meals of all time. Oh, and I’m looking forward to bobbing in the Atlantic Ocean and seeing family too.

I bought seven skeins of Brown Sheep wool while we were in Colorado earlier this month with plans to knit it up into a felted carpetbag. I have just 24 more rows before I bind off and toss it in the pot of boiling water on the stove! I’m so excited! It’s my first project in the round and my first felted project. Not to mention it’s the most awesome turquoise blue (M78), fuchsia pink (M23), and bright orange (M22) stripes. (The web colors aren’t nearly as bright as is my yarn.) I’d like to get it finished this week. Let’s see how that goes.

For now, however, I must get to work on actual work.

  1. Oh, I TOTALLY used to put the View on for some sort of dull roar while I did stuff at home. I needed it to be something I didn’t really want to get sucked in to watching. But man- those ladies! If THIS is “diverse points of view” than I’m a vat of hotdog water. And that Elizabeth gives me the willies.
