Because I know you’re dying to know how warm it was yesterday. A whole day without me telling you we’re living in some sort of hellfire place.

I had an eye doctor’s appointment yesterday. We’ll skip the fact that my prescription has gotten stronger in the last eight months. We’ll skip the fact he gave me a choice between a prescription for either two different contacts to mimic reading glasses or actual reading glasses. Sigh. I’m a long way from 40 and I don’t see the need for such drastic measures. Although not seeing the need is probably why he gave them to me.

Where was I going? Oh yes! See how much cooler it was on the bridge? And the other side of the Bay? Mid 80’s. Up in Woodside where we looked at a house in which neither of us are now interested? High 70’s. When David and I discussed my moving back to California I told him air conditioning was a must. He poo-poo’d me and said “it’s cooler on the east side of the Bay.” I laughed out loud. I was born and raised in the Bay Area and I’m not stupid. It’s always more severe on this side. When it’s cold - it’s colder here. When it’s hot - it’s hotter here. We got the air conditioning a couple years ago after a particularly nasty side of me reared her ugly head during a heat wave in October while David was in Japan and cold. And last night he agreed it’s more severe in the east side. It’s good to be the queen.

While the house wasn’t us, we have decided that Woodside is for us. Narrowing things down takes time, but I’m glad we’ve narrowed it geographically. Although we’re discussing Saratoga too. We’re so finiky.
